PaTrisha-Anne ToddEven though I’m already a published author the journey is a lonely one. So to keep my creative juices flowing and to bring me up to speed with the digital world of publishing I joined Shelley’s Author Audience Academy.

Slowly but surely within the first 90 days I managed to finish my next book even though personal challenges appeared and wanted to distract me from my goal of growing my book series. I did it and I’d recommend to all aspiring writers and even those who are established authors that joining the AAA movement really is that, a tool to support one’s writing goals and publishing aspirations. Behind the Scenes:

Dana-headshotEven though I have been a writer for many years and have published a number of books, I have struggled with the specifics. I knew how to do things, for the most part, but I didn’t know how to do them well and to use them to my advantage. Through Author Audience Academy, I have learned so many things that have made me a better and more productive writer

For me, the best part of Author Audience Academy has been looking at writing, publishing and marketing from a Christian viewpoint. There are many “how-to” programs out there for writing, but what works in the secular world doesn’t necessarily work for Christian authors. I have struggled for years, trying to find the balance between viewing my writing as a ministry and a business. This course has helped me to see that it can be both and that there is hope for some financial gain even within the realm of Christian books.

Jan-Henrik Johansson

Book TitleThe Rescue of Princess Didi

Bio: I was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1945. I wanted to become a librarian and studied Philosophy at Helsinki University. My interest in other cultures brought me soon to Baghdad, Iraq as an associate expert for the International Labour Organization. A few years later I was recruited by the World Bank. This gave me opportunities to visit many countries and work with colleagues from all corners of the world. After leaving the Bank in 1986, I worked as an independent consultant for various international organizations including the Asian Development Bank, United Nations University and the European Union. I retired in 2004 and started to write about my travels and international experiences.

In 2014 I initiated a series of children’s books about multicultural life in our rapidly globalizing world. For this project I interviewed a large number of refugees and transformed their experiences into fairy tales told by their dolls. So far the series, called Dolls without Frontiers, includes 20 volumes in four languages. The books will be published as eBooks during the next few years.

Behind the Scenes:

JanWhat I enjoy the most about Author Audience Academy is being part of a community. Knowing that there are many good writers out there facing the same challenges as I do. And, of course, getting concrete specific answers to questions I have. A feeling that I am on the right track.

I found it especially useful that the AAA training program covered the whole writing-publishing-marketing process in a detailed, comprehensive and consistent manner. I also found the community very helpful and supportive. Thanks to you all!

Jayna Morrow

Book Title:  Revision Runway: 17 Creative Ways to Improve Your Manuscript

Bio: Jayna’s romance novels and a resource for writers have spent time on the Amazon Top 10 lists. Her goal is to bring to life heartwarming stories that embody realistic plots with an uplifting message, giving readers a sweet and warmly satisfying sense of love and hope.

In addition to writing novels, she is an elementary school teacher. Maybe that’s where her teaching spirit comes from. Jayna and her husband, Chip, are patrons of the arts, especially fine arts and music. We also enjoy the outdoors and frequently go off-roading, canoeing, barge riding on Caddo Lake, and camping.  She is a devoted mother to two precious little girls, Rebekah and Ella, and spend a majority of my time creating memories with them. We live in East Texas, near the Louisiana border.

Jayna has had experience presenting to groups small to large on various topics on the craft of writing. She has authored over 15 books, six of which are published. Her books are available in print and eBook formats.

Behind the Scenes:

What I enjoy most about Author Audience Academy is the personal attention from my coach, Shelley Hitz. Not only is the program affordable, but the information is priceless.

As a teacher, I understand the importance of reaching learners of all difference styles and levels. One of the earliest activities in the program was a personality inventory. I could tell that Shelley understood that one size does not fit all when it comes to learning, and she planned a dynamic program that reaches each member at a personal level. It’s like having a private tutor every step of the way. As someone with zero knowledge and background in the areas of self-publishing and marketing, Shelley’s personal style of teaching really resonated with me.

Author Audience Academy helped me turn my passion into a profession!
